Just Local Food has the perfect meal for your fruit, veggies, herbs and flowers. Compost from Hilsgen Family Farm (near Maiden Rock, WI) is a well-aged blend of horse, goat and chicken manure and vegetable scraps. And it’s available at JLF for $14.99 per 1.6 ft.³ bag. 

This is the same compost that grows the ground-stored carrots we receive during the winter months. (In my opinion – and that of many others – the Hilsgen family’s winter carrots are the sweetest , crunchiest, most delectable treat you can eat during the January doldrums. Sadly, you’ll have to wait until next winter for more!)

COWSMO is back! The Foodlums have bagged the Co-op some wonderful 50 Lbs. bags of Potting Soil from Waumandee, WI and are expecting to also have similar bags of wonderful composted cow manure in weeks to come!

These bags of potting soil consist of peat, Cowsmo Compost, sand, perlite, meat and bone meal, kelp, rock phosphate & lime and are great for general purpose, for starting plants, for soil blocks or use in small containers.

Last year we and the foodlums received rave reviews from folks from all over the gardening and farming spectrum and are excited to continue to offer this great product!
